  2. Rub groundnuts with your fingers to remove the outer skin and keep aside.                     IMG_1702
  3. In the same pan dry roast red chilies for 2 minutes to get nice aroma. Transfer to a bowl and allow to cool.( If you want you can add small amount of Ghee/Clarified butter to roast chilies).  you can also use readily available  red chilli powder in place of red chilies.
  4. Grind groundnuts and chutney dal to a powder.
  5. Add salt, garlic cloves, red chilies, jaggery and grind again for about 2 to 3 minutes in a grinder. If you prefer to have a sticky and paste like a thing you can add less amount of roasted Chana dal and grind for more time.(When you grind the powder for more time , because of the heat  inside the jar  the texture of the powder will become sticky and oily).
  6. Transfer the powder to a  air tight glass jar.
  7. The tasty groundnut powder can be served along with Steamed rice and Ghee. It can also go well with Dosa, Idly, Upma. This powder can be stored up to 1 month or more. IMG_1775

Note: You can add 3 tablespoons of Groundnut  powder and 3 Tablespoons of curd/yogurt to prepare instant dip or Chutney. This powder can be mixed with some melted Ghee and can be applied to Roti, Parathas or Bread.(Just like Peanut butter). Dry roasted sesame seeds can also be added to ground nuts to try a different taste and flavor. Add some Ground nut powder to any dry curries like Bitter gourd fry(Karela sabzi), Bhindi fry and Brinjal fry to have a unique taste.
